Foster Friends

Hello Gems!

This week I've been trying to look for the things in life that make me happy. As you all know struggles come when you least expect it, now everyone goes through trials and have their own way of dealing with them. I talked with a friend of mine who is struggling in such a young period of his life and I ask "how do you deal with the trials you're facing?" He didn't look surprised by the question but happy to talk about it and simply said "you have to look for the foster things in life." I decided to take my good friends advice and when I did I found out it all started with the people I love and call my friends. Surrounding yourself with good people will help you become a better person, having people there to lift you up when down is more important than anything you could buy or do. Knowing you have people who care about you can help you through dark times and lead you away from harm. As you are going through these things, know that talking to people can help you in a big way, avoid unneeded arguments and bring on unforgettable memories with those you love. Spending time with the ones you love can help change their mindset you may never know what is going on in their life just as they don't know everything going on in yours. Spending time with someone may be huge for them feeling your love, could help them get through the day. Taking a small 25 seconds out of your day to help someone else is never going to be a waste of time! the only waste is not helping someone when you had the chance. Think of all the foster friends you have, think about everything you guys have been through, think about the acts of kindness they have shown you. How have they helped you, how have they lifted you when you could barely walk? But more importantly how have you lifted them? Have you done all you can to show them how special they are to you, have you shown them the act of kindness that you once needed?

Think about these things and as you try to spread kindness to those around you I promise life will become clear and you will see all the foster things in life.
